Just call him Pennywise

Today I took the Peanut to our first mommy-and-baby class at Gymboree (we tried one of the freebies). We're kinda late to the socializing thing, but it's time and I'm forcing myself to get out there and do it. The Peanut loved the class. Me, I was kinda meh about it until I saw this:

Does anyone see a resemblance?

Exactly.

Damn, I hate clowns. So, I pose the question to you gentle readers: does anyone know of any mommy and me groups in the downtown Toronto area that won't scare the crap out of me we might enjoy more?

I hate clowns. period.

I've had good luck with the Ontario Early Year drop-in centres in different parts of the city.

ARGH! Why do they have to have a clown as a mascot. Don't they know that MOMS don't like clowns? And, then we have to take them home because the little one HAS to have one.... The monkey LOVED that clown when we went to gymboree!

Yeah Gymbo is a cult leader. I had a similar experience. http://scarbiedoll.blogspot.com/2005/05/kiddie-cult.html

Um no. All mommy groups scare me.
Except this one.

We tried a free class too, and didn't like it all that much. I have a clown thing too, though. You could try a music class, like Rainbow Songs or Fun with Music Together.

It seems that even my cyber-friends are scared of clowns. Sigh. ;) They have such a bad reputation. My uncle was a clown and there was a clown painting in my bedroom when I was a baby. I love clowns. I don't blame clowns for the misdeeds of a few anymore than I would blame all football players for dog fighting.

Maybe you should check out the episode of Miami Ink where they go to the side show to do some work. You would see that clowns, under their costumes and make-up, are just normal people like you and me.

That being said, I will keep in mind that you do not like clowns. I'll do my best to avoid them in the books I read and recommend. :) I do not want to offend a faithful reader.
